About the Festival

Cia Quase Cinema's mission is to promote, produce and research the theater of shadows, which has been our way since the foundation. Since 2014 we have worked to bring together national and foreign groups in an exchange of ideas, practices and dialogues on the contemporary production of shadow theater.

The FIS - International Shadow Theater Festival is an accomplishment, creation and production of the Cia. It is an annual event that since 2014 is held in the interior of the state of São Paulo with focus on the rural area. Its objective is

the exchange of experience and sociocultural exchange between artists and the population of the countryside in the interior of the state of São Paulo. In recent years, it has received 39 companies, 18 from abroad and 21 from Brazil. It comprises an average audience of 1500 spectators per edition, among artistic residency, seminars, courses and performances. All events are free. We have been supported by the government of the state of São Paulo through the PROAC (Cultural Incentive Program of the State Culture Secretariat), CAIXA CULTURAL (Cultural Incentive Program of the Federal Savings Bank), SESC and City Hall of the cities that receive the festival.
